Is this actually safe?
Yes. Everything runs locally in your browser. We never send, store, or log your passwords. The only network call is the optional breach check, which uses k-anonymity — only 5 characters of a SHA-1 hash are sent, never the actual password.
Will it break my login forms?
In almost all cases, no. Changing the input type from "password" to "text" doesn't affect form submission. The field name and value stay intact. We've tested across hundreds of sites without issues.
Will Chrome still save my passwords?
Chrome's password manager may not detect unmasked fields for auto-save. If you rely on it, use per-site rules (Pro) to leave specific sites untouched, or use peek mode instead of full unmask.
What sites won't it work on?
Sites using closed Shadow DOM or custom non-native inputs (like canvas-based PIN pads) can't be detected. Some banking sites with strict CSP may block extensions. Chrome internal pages (chrome://) are off-limits by design.
